Take your skills to the next level in a fun 12 week class for beginning students.  Adult students will learn in a supportive small class setting with instruction from our teaching artist, Pam Henry.  This class will explore the 3 basic handbuilding methods: slab, pinch and coil. Using each of these , Pam will guide you through a 3 stage project to increase your clay working skills.  Work will be fired to cone 6 in oxidation with a variety of beautiful commercial glazes.

Pam Henry has been working with clay for over 40 years.  She enjoys all the challenges and rewards it has to offer.  There is always a new technique to learn, a new form to explore.  Pam has always preferred handbuilding over throwing on the wheel.  She feels that it allows more freedom to create more expressive functional and sculptural pieces.

Your class fee includes glazes, stains and firing.  Clay and hand tools will be available for purchase.  You may bring and use your own tools, but clay must be purchased through Roadrunner to avoid kiln mishaps with unknown clay.  This should be an exciting and informative class.
