Roadrunner Ceramics presents Intro to Hand Building
Date: Mar 10 - May 26, 2025
Learn the basics of hand building this spring in a fun 12 week class for beginning students. Adult students will learn in a supportive small class setting with instruction from our teaching artist, Mary Wuest. Use the handbuilding techniques of pinching, coil, and slab building to create beautiful, useful art and learn to decorate, glaze and fire your work using a variety of commercial glazes and techniques. You’ll create one or more finished, glazed pieces.
Mary Wuest is a ceramic artist/educator who sees clay as a metaphor for life- an endlessly moldable, process-driven endeavor that never fails to surprise and delight. While she holds an MFA from UTSA, she is constantly reminded of how much more there is to know about working with clay.
All materials and tools will be available for purchase on your first day of class. Firing service is included. We’re excited to offer this challenging and enriching class experience.
