Take your skills to the next level with a hands-on glaze testing and color blend workshop for the advancing ceramicist. We’ll focus on cone 6 glazes, cones, kilns, firing dynamics and cycles. You’ll gain understanding of ash, celadon, temmoku and other glazes.
John Britt is a teacher, author, and studio potter from Bakersville, NC. A self-taught potter who has taught internationally at universities, colleges, and the Penland School of Crafts, John is the author of The Complete Guide to High-fire Glaze and The Complete Guide to Midrange Glaze, and is a regular contributor to Ceramic Review, Studio Potter, and Ceramics Monthly.
Snacks and drinks are included. You’ll be provided test tiles, raw materials, and all equipment necessary to mix and fire triaxial glaze blend tests. This should be an exciting and informative workshop to start you on the path to creating your own glazes.
Cost for the event is $325. Please register by January 12 at our website or by calling or stopping by the store before space is gone!
